Why Archer exists—in Daniel’s own words.
Living and working in Englewood means becoming intimately familiar with a grief that should not be. I have stood with too many families around caskets that should have been graduation stages, listening to their weeping as tears silently roll down my own cheeks at the loss of life.
For over four decades, our ministry has served families and young people in Englewood with compassion and faith. That work has been deeply meaningful, yet over time, we began to see its limits. We were often stepping in only after lives had already been shaped by difficult circumstances and broken systems. Despite our best efforts, the path forward was often constrained by what had already taken root.
The clarity of a new mission came to me while I was sitting in our after-school club, watching our dedicated tutors try to inspire children already exhausted by a failing system. The thought hit me: our focus has been on attempting to change a trajectory that has already been set and is further solidified in a broken system every day. What if our ministry could become the Archer—the steady hand that chooses a better target, draws the bow with discipline, and ensures a truer aim from the very start?
This vision is Archer Christian Academy. It is our answer, born from everything we have learned. As the Archer, we will be the personification of the school: disciplined, resilient, and servant-hearted. We will wield the strong bow of a Christ-centered, classical education. We will draw back the string with teachers who are mentors, transferring energy with care. And we will launch our students—the arrows—prepared to fly true.
For our families, this is our commitment. Your children are worth fighting for, and we are taking on the role of the Archer to equip, aim, and launch them toward lives of purpose, for the renewal of Englewood and the glory of God.
